Erik ten Hag mocked by Deliveroo over potential new career after Manchester United

Erik ten Hag is the name on everyone's lips at the moments, even a leading takeaway service.

The Manchester United boss is feeling the pressure at Old Trafford following a heavy 3-0 defeat to Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup, the latest in a disappointing run of form.

But as they say, if you can't handle the heat then step out of the kitchen.

Speculation is going into overdrive regarding what the future holds for the Dutch boss.

Given Man United's ownership uncertainty, it remains to be seen if Ten Hag's job is under any serious threat, or if he'll be given the chance to get their season back on track.

But that didn't stop Deliveroo from having a pop at Ten Hag in a social media post.

With an image of Ten Hag riding a bike with a brown bag in his hand, they wrote: "Good to see Ten Hag's already preparing for his next role after Man United."

It's clear that Deliveroo are seeing the funny side of Man United's plight, although ex-Liverpool man believes there should be a lot of concerns at Ten Hag's side lacking an identity.

He told talkSPORT: "United have gone backwards. There are some mitigating circumstances that need to be taken into account, the off-the-field stuff Ten Hag has had to deal with would be a struggle for any manager.

"That said, on the pitch they are looking a million miles off it, and there is only one person who deal with that and should take the blame for that, and that's the manager.

EXCLUSIVE: Mark Goldbridge doesn't blame Erik ten Hag or Bruno Fernandes for Manchester United's recent form and instead says Mason Mount and Antony must do a lot more for the team

"The players have to take some, but ultimately the manager is the one who dictates the work ethic, the tactics, the tempo, the energy, the behaviour, or lack of it in terms of petulance, he dictates all of that.

"Irrelevant of what's going on with the ownership, that does not affect what he's doing on the training pitch.

"They are tactically inept, they are physically poorer than most of the teams they play against and I can't see what Man United are trying to do, and I'm really looking.

"Any time they play anyone decent they get done, because they're too easy to play against. I think Ten Hag is out of his depth and it's not going to work."
