Liverpool have completed the signing of Ryan Gravenberch on a £34million deal from Bayern Munich.

The 21-year-old Dutchman takes the Reds summer spending to approximately £145m, which has exclusively been spent on midfield recruits.

Refreshing an ageing and injury-prone group in the middle of the park, former Ajax man Gravenberch joins Dominik Szoboszlai from RB Leipzig and Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton through the door.

Jurgen Klopp has also landed £16.2m Waturu Endo from Stuttgart, with the 30-year-old Japan international their only specialised defensive midfielder.

Speaking of his delight, Gravenberch told the club's website: "I’m very happy. Very happy that the deal is done and I’m finally here.

“If you see it from the outside, it’s one of the biggest clubs in the world.

"Also the fans, the stadium, I think everything from the outside is top. So that’s why [it was the right club].”

He added: “I’m really looking forward to [being at Anfield] and I can’t wait to hear the You’ll Never Walk Alone song.

“Now we start fresh again, a new start, and I’m going to give my all for this club. [My ambitions are] to win prizes. To win prizes, play a lot and show them who we are and who I am.”

Gravenberch was unveiled by the Reds on social media with a photo of him taking a selfie on an exercise bike, throwing back to an image of him in a Liverpool kit from years ago.

Taking the no.38 shirt, Gravenberch joins his third club in just over a year after his £16m move from Ajax to Bayern last summer didn't quite work out.
