Sergio Reguilon has completed a deadline day move to Manchester United.

The full-back has signed for the Red Devils on a season-long loan, coming in to provide cover for the injured Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia at left back.

Erik ten Hag confirmed in his press conference on Friday that the 26-year-old will be available to play against Arsenal - his parent club's rivals - at the Emirates this weekend.

Speaking about his move to Old Trafford, Reguilon told said: "In life you have to be ready for everything and the chance to represent this great club with such an illustrious history is one that I could not turn down.

"Having spoken to the manager, I know what he needs from me, and I am ready to play my part in helping the team to achieve success.

“I know that I can contribute to Manchester United this season; I am ready to fight for this group and show everyone my qualities.”

Reguilon has 230 games under his belt so far in his career, including appearances for Real Madrid, Sevilla, Tottenham and Atletico Madrid. He also won the Europa League while on loan with Sevilla in 2020.

The defender joined Spurs from Real Madrid that summer for around £30m and has made 67 appearances since, scoring twice and providing nine assists in that time.

Since returning from his loan with Atletico Madrid last year, Reguilon hasn't featured in Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou's squads for their opening fixtures, but the Spaniard is now set for a return to Premier League action.

Man United had been interested in signing Chelsea's Marc Cucurella, but have since abandoned their pursuit.

On Reguilons arrival, Red Devils' technical director John Murtough said: "Once it became clear that we needed to bring in another left-back we assessed a number of targets and acted quickly to sign Sergio.

"He possesses all the required qualities to help us achieve our aims this season.

“He has good experience in both the Premier League and in European competitions, so he is ready to come into the squad and perform straight away.”
