Kylian Mbappe will not be moving to Real Madrid this summer, talkSPORT understands.

It won't be for a lack of effort on the part of the Spanish giants, who are understood to have submitted an eye-watering €220million (around £189m) bid to Paris Saint-Germain on deadline day.

It's thought the deal collapsed when PSG stalled on Real's offer and failed top respond before an alleged deadline on Monday.

However, Real Madrid's wait to sign Mbappe shouldn't go on for too much longer.

Mbappe is in the final year of his Parc des Princes contract, meaning he can be acquired for free next summer.

He will be able to sign a pre-contract agreement with any club outside of Ligue 1 in January.

PSG have had a very successful transfer window having signed the likes of Gianluigi Donnarumma, Sergio Ramos and the great Lionel Messi.

However, some of that work was looking like it would be undone with Mbappe understood to be itching for a move to the Bernabeu.

The LaLiga side submitted two offers for the World Cup winner last week but PSG stood firm.

A final attempt was made to sign Mbappe on the final day of the window but the French side weren't quick enough to respond to Real Madrid's advances.
