Arsenal and Tottenham on red alert as Ivan Toney joins agency behind record breaking Gareth Bale and Jack Grealish transfers

Brentford striker Ivan Toney has fuelled speculation of a move in 2024 by joining a new agency.

The 27-year-old is poised to return to football in January once he has completed his eight-month FA ban for breaching betting rules.

Toney was set to be a man in demand this summer following a sensational 2023/23 season where he scored 20 Premier League goals.

But a move away from west London will have to wait until 2024 - and he has taken a huge step in planning his next move.

The one-cap England international has linked up with CAA Stellar - the agency behind Gareth Bale and Jack Grealish's record-breaking transfers.

Executive chairman Jonathan Barnett played a key role in Bale's then-record £85m move from Tottenham to Real Madrid in 2013.

And in 2021, CAAB Stellar helped facilitate Grealish's then-Premier League record £100m transfer to Manchester City from Aston Villa.

Commenting on his switch, Toney said: "It is very timely for me to be joining CAA Stellar.

"It feels like a fresh  beginning. Never underestimate the power you have to take your life in a new direction."

Barnett, CAA Stellar executive chairman, added: "I am very excited that we have signed Ivan.

"He is a great talent and I am sure this is the beginning of a fantastic  future for him."

Along with Grealish, Toney joins Three Lions teammates Ben Chilwell, Kalvin Phillips, Luke Shaw, Jordan Pickford, Nick Pope and James Ward-Prowse at CAA Stellar.

According to The Times, Brentford have slapped an £80m price tag on Toney, with the Bees resigned to losing him.

They have stated the club are braced to receive bids for the ex-Newcastle centre-forward once his suspensions ends on January 16.

North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham have been credited with an interest in the former Peterborough marksman.

Chelsea and Manchester United have also been linked with Toney.

But the Gunners could be seen as a more attractive option given his views on Mikel Arteta's side during his recent appearance on the Diary of a CEO.

He said of the Community Shield winners: "The next club I go to, if I was to move, would be the right club. I've been a Liverpool fan my whole life, but from young I’ve liked Arsenal.

"I’ve liked watching Arsenal and how they play and how passionate their fans are."
