‘No b*******’ – Mercedes chief Toto Wolff reveals what Manchester United fans can expect from Sir Jim Ratcliffe

Manchester United fans can expect Sir Jim Ratcliffe to 'cut out all the b*******' at the club, according to Toto Wolff.

The British billionaire looks set to purchase a 25 per cent stake at Old Trafford after Sheikh Jassim bin Al Thani withdrew his takeover offer.

INEOS, founded by Ratcliffe in 1998, have been principal partners of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team for nearly three years.

Wolff is therefore no stranger to United's prospective new investor and has given fans a source of excitement for his arrival.

When asked about Ratcliffe ahead of the United States Grand Prix, the Mercedes Team Principal said: "Jim and his partners, Andy [Currie] and John [Reece], they are first of all very complimentary.

"It is a no b******* organisation. They are huge in terms of revenue and profit and decisions are being made quickly, three bullet points on a page and here we go.

MORE ON SIR JIM RATCLIFFE

"With Jim, all the b******* is cut out. I think wherever he gets his power and his resource and character behind it, I think that's going to be an add-on for any team.

"He's a Manchester boy, he has the resources that are needed, the heart is in the right place for this team and I'm sure he can be very creative for United.

"With us, he's been a fantastic shareholder, a good sounding board and sparring partner for myself."

Ratcliffe is hopeful his 25 per cent offer for the Glazers' share will be accepted as he sets his sights on becoming United's majority owner.

Joel and Avram Glazer have always been reluctant to sanction a full sale though, with Sheikh Jassim's retracted bid a world-record offer.

It has been nearly a year since the Glazers announced they were 'exploring strategic alternatives' for the club.

However, talkSPORT understands that Ratcliffe's partial takeover is unlikely to be finalised for several weeks.
