Joanderson Brito did his best impression of Derrick Lewis at UFC Vegas 82.

The Brazilian fighter squared off against streaking featherweight contender Jonathan Pearce in the featured preliminary bout at the UFC Apex on Saturday night.

In round one, both men had their moments, and it was difficult to split them.

However, Pearce began to take over during the following frame as he landed a takedown and caused damage with his relentless ground attacks.

Brito tried to defend himself, but his punches went wayward and triggered some trash talk from his opponent who told the referee he had been the recipient of illegal shots to the back of the head.

Despite being floored, Brito mocked Pearce for his complaint and got a big reaction as the American repeatedly told him: “Get up and do something, boy!”

That’s exactly what he did shortly after the entertaining verbal exchange.

Brito popped back his feet and immediately locked up a ninja choke.

The submission was so deep Pearce was forced to tap out for the first time since suffering back-to-back submission defeats on the regional circuit in 2016.

Following his shocking win, Brito celebrated by dropping his pants and launching his mouth guard into the crowd in a scene eerily similar to Lewis’ most famous post-fight display.

The heavyweight knockout artist stripped down to his boxers after his comeback victory over Alexander Volkov at UFC 229 in October 2018.

And when UFC legend Joe Rogan asked, ‘The Black Beast’ to explain his wacky celebration, Lewis simply replied: "My balls was hot."

Lewis recreated his viral celebration when he stopped Marcos Rogério de Lima in 33 seconds at UFC 291 in July - but he has since been beaten by Jailton Almeida

Unfortunately, it could be the last time fans see him in the UFC.

The 38-year-old has lost four of his last five fights and appears to be done competing at the top of the UFC’s heavyweight division after a memorable career with MMA’s premier promotion.

Brito, who is ten years younger, appears intent on keeping Lewis’s celebration alive if the heavyweight icon's time in the UFC is over.
