Jake Paul claims he’s agreed to rematch Nate Diaz.

‘The Problem Child’ scored a knockdown during his unanimous decision win over Conor McGregor’s rival when they boxed at the American Airlines Center in Dallas on August 5.

After taking some time away from fighting, the 7-1 star recently announced he will return to the ring for his ninth professional boxing bout before 2023 is over.

"Eight fights in the boxing game and I’m already its biggest name," Paul said in a press release last week.

"I’ve proved that I can headline the biggest global events and defy the odds. PPV after PPV after PPV, and I’m just getting started.

“My mission is to be a world champion and I’m willing to do whatever it takes to get there. December 15th is the next step on my journey, and I promise you’re not going to want to miss it.”

Diaz reacted by posting a fake poster promoting their rematch.

He added the caption: “Rematch wit this scared b****.”

On Monday, Most Valuable Promotions [MVP] – a promotional company co-owned by the former Disney star – responded to rumours about Paul vs Diaz II happening later this year.

“For the record: Jake Paul will not be boxing Nate Diaz again,” MVP tweeted.

"Nate Diaz and Jake Paul have received an offer from the Professional Fighters League [PFL] to rematch in MMA in the SmartCage. Jake Paul has accepted the offer.”

Diaz has repeatedly distanced himself from fighting Paul under the PFL banner despite being offered $10 million [£7.6m] to welcome the YouTuber-turned-boxer to a new sport.

The 38-year-old spent the vast majority of his career fighting for the UFC.

Since ending his 15-year run with Dana White's league in 2022, Diaz has consistently talked about returning to MMA’s premier promotion after exploring his options outside of the company.

A trilogy bout with McGregor remains an exciting possibility for Diaz, who scored a monumental upset by submitting the Irishman in March 2016 before being outpointed in their rematch a few months later.

Fans have been clamouring for a third fight ever since and with ‘Notorious’ set to make his MMA comeback in 2024 it could finally happen – but only in the UFC Octagon.

Diaz must decide if an eight-figure deal is enough for him to fight Paul in the PFL or if he wants to return to the UFC and settle his rivalry with McGregor once and for all.
