The 33-year-old first came to prominence at Inter Milan, spending three years at the San Siro before completing a high-profile move to City in 2010.

He helped City to their first Premier League title in his second season at the club, providing the assist for Sergio Aguero's iconic title-winning strike.

Balotelli went then joined Inter's local rivals AC Milan in January 2013 before returning to the Premier League 18 months later by going to Liverpool.

His two-year spell at Anfield was a disaster as he only managed four goals, one in the Premier League.

The second season as a Liverpool player saw Balotelli join Milan on loan before he went to Nice, where he spent three years.

After Nice he stayed in France to sign for Marseille and has since represented Italian outfit Monza, Swiss side Sion and Brescia in a journeyman career.

He's never been out of the headlines for his off-pitch antics having infamously set off fireworks in his rented home causing thousands of pounds worth of damage when he was a City player. Balotelli then became the face of a firework safety campaign days later.

The Italy international was also spotted grappling with then-City boss Roberto Mancini during a training ground bust-up.
