Matt LaFleur furious with Lions security guard who tackled him while running to locker room

Matt LaFleur was bizarrely tackled by a security guard as he ran to the locker room at halftime of the Packers-Lions Thanksgiving game.

The Packers head coach was running off the sidelines with his team up 23-6 when the security guard appeared to tackle him.

LaFleur looked pretty agitated with the individual as he spun around and appeared to say something before heading off to the locker room.

"Matt LaFleur out here with that 'Do you know who I am?' Energy," one NFL fan on X, formerly Twitter, wrote.

"Security trying to get fired at halftime so he can make it home for the Turkey," joked a second.

"Security thought he was a drunk fan," a third quipped.

However, Fox Sports' Mark Rinaldi managed to catch a few words from LaFleur when he came back out onto the field.

"That's never happened to me, ever, in my coaching career. I was fully committed and I wasn't going to be stopped."

Perhaps the employee didn't recognise him but that seems unlikely given the Packers HC is one of the winningest active coaches in the league and has been at the helm in Green Bay for four years.

It could well have been an accident. Nobody on the Fox broadcast could explain the altercation, with Greg Olsen and Kevin Burkhardt unable to provide furthers details on what went down.

LaFelur was already pretty heated at the refs missing a pass interference penalty at the end of the first half.

Green Bay quarterback Jordan Love threw a pass to receiver Christian Watson for what should have been a touchdown but he got tangled up with Lions defensive back Cameron Stutton.

The officials failed to call the interference and LaFleur, who couldn't understand why, got visibly annoyed.

Still, it was a fine first half for LaFleur's team who led by 17 points. The Packers gained 247 yards with Love going 15-for-20 for 189 yards and two touchdowns.

Despite scoring on their opening drive, Detroit only gained 72 yards on five drives after that, with QB Jared Goff completing 8 of 16 passes for 100 yards and two sloppy fumbles.

There was a late rally from the home team in the second half, but the Packers were able to see out the game, 29-22.

The win keeps the Packers on pace with Vikings for the No. 7 seed in the NFC. They remain third in the NFC North and just game in the loss column behind the Vikings for the final playoff spot.

It was also a proud day for Biles/Owens household to celebrate with the Olympic gymnast in the crowd to see husband Jonathan score a touchdown.

Writing on social media, the proud Olympian wrote: "THAT'S MY HUSBAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MY MANS MY MANS MY MANSSSSS LFGGGGGGOOOOOOO."
