Manchester United injury list: Andre Onana, Christian Eriksen and Rasmus Hojlund join Lisandro Martinez and Casemiro on sidelines

It's been a bizarre season so far for Manchester United, and the injuries are mounting up.

Several players like Luke Shaw and Lisandro Martinez have barely played a game for the Red Devils this year due to injury, and there are no signs of the problems easing.

Erik ten Hag's options in defence have been particularly limited, meaning Jonny Evans and Harry Maguire have had to step in.

But there are players missing all across the squad, which, when you are competing on three fronts, isn't ideal.

Manchester United's injury list and how long they are out for

Casemiro [thigh injury] - 5 weeks

Casemiro started the 3-0 Carabao Cup defeat to Newcastle but was substituted at half time with a thigh problem.

Ten Hag then revealed he would be out until Christmas, meaning he will miss the remainder of Man United's Champions League campaign.

Amad Diallo [knee inury] - 7-8 weeks

Diallo sustained a nasty knee problem during pre-season that was expected to keep him out of action until the New Year.

He's yet to return to training but could play an important role for the Red Devils next year, with Jadon Sancho expected to leave and Antony struggling for form.

Christian Eriksen [knee injury] - 4 weeks

Eriksen is set for a month on the sidelines after sustaining a knee injury during the 1-0 win over Luton.

The Dane has been playing in midfield, and with Casemiro also out, there are going to be some tired legs in the centre of the park.

Jonny Evans [hamstring problem] - unknown

Evans rejoined United this summer, eight years after leaving to join West Brom, and he's already played eight games this season.

However, he was withdrawn against Copenhagen with a hamstring strain after just 16 minutes, and it's unclear when he will return.

Rasmus Hojlund [muscle strain] - 3 weeks

Hojlund started the 1-0 win over Luton but was withdrawn ten minutes before the end of the game with a muscle strain.

Man United hope he's back before the end of November, meaning he shouldn't miss too many games.

Andre Onana [unspecified problem] - unknown

Onana is the latest player to join Man United's growing injury list with an unknown problem after leaving the pitch during international duty with Cameroon.

The goalkeeper was substituted in the 81st minute of Cameroon's game against Mauritius and will now be assessed by the team at Carrington.

Tyrell Malacia [ongoing knee problem] - unknown

Where is he?

Malacia has yet to play a single competitive game this season and has been absent with an ongoing knee problem.

Ten Hag revealed in August that he was only a few weeks away, but the Dutchman is yet to return.

Lisandro Martinez [foot injury] - 4-8 weeks

Martinez is expected to be out until at least Christmas due to a foot injury suffered at the end of September.

The Argentine has only made six appearances this season, and the Red Devils are missing his passing and aggression at the back.

Luke Shaw [unspecified muscle problem] - few days

Shaw is another who has been absent for some time, but he's back in full training.

The left-back was one of United's best players last season, and they are really missing him so his return could be very important.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka [ill] - 2 weeks

Wan-Bissaka has only just returned from a hamstring injury, but he's now picked up a virus.

However, he should be back for either the Premier League return or the Red Devils' Champions League clash against Galatasaray.
