There’s another double header next week with the South African Open Championship sharing the stage with the ISPS HANDA Australian Open.

The Joburg Open first appeared on the schedule in 2007 but this is just the second edition at Houghton GC following Dan Bradbury’s victory here 12 months ago.

The Englishman shot 21-under to come home three strokes clear of Finland’s Sami Valimaki while home South Africans occupied five of the next six places.

Houghton GC is a 7,227-yard par 70 and has staged eight previous South African Opens.

🏌️‍♂️ Christiaan Bezuidenhout can bank victory

While a South African didn’t win here last year, the leaderboard was packed with home players and it could pay to side with a Springbok this time.

Christiaan Bezuidenhout is the standout and showed his liking for this week’s course when shooting 17-under to finish in a tie for third 12 months ago.

Bezuidenhout has an outstanding record on his own turf and his last eight starts in South Africa show three wins, a third, a fifth and a sixth.

Two tournaments ago, he showed some improved form to finish tied sixth in the PGA Tour’s Sanderson Farms Championship and, most recently, the 29-year-old shot a closing 66 at the Shriners Children’s Open in Las Vegas.

Two of his three DP World Tour wins have come in his homeland so here's our tip:

Take Christiaan Bezuidenhout 12/1 with Spreadex that he wins

🏌️‍♂️ Thriston Lawrence can outscore Branden Grace

For so long, Branden Grace was one of the elite South African performers and would usually have been a popular bet to win this week.

But he seems to have taken backward steps of late and his last three starts show a pair of modest finishes in LIV events and tied 43rd in the Nedbank Golf Challenge.

While Grace’s star wanes, Thriston Lawrence’s rises.

Grace’s fellow South African was 24th in the Nedbank earlier this month and he followed that good effort on home soil with an excellent fifth place in the DP World Tour Championship in the United Arab Emirates last week.

Both are priced similarly in bet365’s 72-hole match-up but it’s Lawrence who gets the vote to come out on top.

Bet on Lawrence to outscore Branden Grace at 10/11 with bet365

🏌️‍♂️ Adri Arnaus for Top 10

Spain’s Adri Arnaus has flashed pieces of form in the last couple of months, logging a 14th and a 19th in two of his latest four DP World Tour starts.

But a return to South Africa could really get the juices flowing.

Arnaus loves it here and has racked up four top 10s in his last eight visits, two of those second places.

Bet on Adri Arnaus to get in the Top 10 at 6/1 with bet365
