Liverpool have confirmed the signing of Dominik Szoboszlai.

The Hungarian midfielder arrives for a fee worth £60million after the Reds triggered a clause in his RB Leipzig deal.

The 22-year-old with wear the legendary No.8 shirt worn by Steven Gerrard.

He becomes Liverpool’s second signing of the summer after the arrival of Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton.

Szoboszlai made 46 appearances for RB Leipzig last season as they finished third in the Bundesliga, just four points off champions Bayern Munich.

The midfielder scored 10 goals in all competitions whilst also providing 13 assists.

The 22-year-old told Liverpool’s club media: “It’s really, really good. I enjoyed the last [few] days and I’m looking forward to knowing everybody better.

“The last three or four days went really long; it was not that easy. But at the end I’m here, I’m happy and I can’t wait to get started.

“[A] really historic club, really good players, good coach, everything is good. For me it was perfect to make the next step in a club like this. The fans, the stadium, everything is really good.”
