No Harry Kane, but seven Manchester United players including David Beckham and Harry Maguire named in combined England XI
Seven past and present Manchester United stars have been named in a controversial XI made from England's 'Golden Generation' and the current squad.
The Three Lions will head into Euro 2024 next summer as one of the favourites to win the trophy in Germany.
England have tasted little success on the international stage, with their World Cup triumph in 1966 their only major honour.
However, fans have witnessed an abundance of quality in their ranks, with a number of them some of the best to have graced the game.
The 'Golden Generation' featured a number of Premier League and Champions League winners from the early to mid-2000s, but they just never really clicked.
England's current crop of talent is incredibly promising, with talkSPORT host Andy Goldstein attempting to name his ideal combined XI, although we suspect it was tongue in cheek from the Red Devils fan.

Starting off with his shot-stopper, he said: "Goalkeeper, there's a lot of good English goalkeepers, 'Golden Generation' of course.
"I've gone for someone that conceded a goal that was unstoppable, he conceded the goal of the century [his goal vs the goalkeeper in Soccer Aid training], for that reason I've put in David James."
"So basically you're not taking this seriously," remarked Darren Bent, but Goldstein was quick to insist that he was.
"Left-back, Ashley Cole, has to be, so this proves I'm taking it seriously. Defender, Rio Ferdinand. Hear me out, before you go mad, he's never let England down, Harry Maguire."

Bent then asked why he was picked over John Terry, with Goldstein stating: "Let me finish my team. Right-back, I've gone Gary Neville. At the moment, you could argue it's quite Manchester United heavy, but that will change.
"Declan Rice and Jude Bellingham, they're the two holders. Three in the middle, on the right Becks [David Beckham], that's why I picked Neville. I had to pick Becks, their relationship down that right-hand side, probably the greatest winger and full-back relationship ever.
"Middle of the park, spraying it about for fun, Paul Scholes, unbelievable. On the left, when he plays for England, Marcus Rashford. And up top, Wazza [Wayne Rooney]."
Bent, once again questioning his choices, asked about the omission of England's record scorer Harry Kane, but he is on the bench.
That's seven United players from the past and present featuring in Goldstein's side, though one that is most certainly filled with quality.
However, many will surely contest some of his selections, although the debate over the best combined XI will never be truly determined.
