Tony Bellew almost came to blows in reality TV programme and now he is set for I’m a Celebrity jungle

Tony Bellew is heading into the jungle for the latest season of 'I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!'

The former cruiserweight world champion will be on the show alongside an eclectic cast featuring former UKIP and Brexit Party leader Nigel Farage, retired Jockey Frankie Dettori and actress Jamie Lynn Spears, who is the sister of singer Britney Spears, among others.

This will not be the first time Bellew has appeared in a reality show, as he previously went on the celebrity edition of SAS: Who Dares Wins.

At one point during the show, Bellew's frustrations boiled over and he squared up to former special forces soldier Ant Middleton, who told him he 'could end up killing someone' if he didn't control his anger.

Speaking to the Mirror about the incident, Bellew said: "That was a clash of two lions. I was ready to just go for it. I really was.

"Thankfully, I took a breath and walked away."

Bellew continued: "Once he said to me, 'You're a ticking time bomb'. I was hellbent on showing him that I'm not."

Although, Bellew admitted in another interview with the Daily Star: "I feel like I can be a horrible c*** sometimes. I just feel like I could do some horrible things.

"I don't know if it's like road rage or something, I feel like I could explode at any moment. I can't explain it without sounding like a f***ing maniac.

"My whole life I've thought I was going to end up in jail. I've come very close. I've had incidents where I've been very close to going there.

"I was never scared of jail. But once I had children, going to jail became my biggest fear.

"In the past I've done some things I'm not very proud of. Really bad, sh** things.

"I've seen my dad in jail. I have visited him there. It was heartbreaking. I ain't putting my kids through that. I never want to put them in that position."

And once again, Bellew will have to control his emotions when he heads into the jungle, as frustrations often bubble over after a few weeks of limited food and sleep.

But, instead of jail, Bellew will have to battle with other potential fears such as spiders, crocodiles or eating a kangaroo testicle.
