Adele, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, you might want to keep a close eye on Neil 'Razor' Ruddock ahead of this year's race for Christmas No.1...

The former Liverpool star took a leaf out of ex-teammate John Barnes' book and took to the talkSPORT airwaves to perform an epic rap about the Reds' clash against Manchester City on Saturday.

Jurgen Klopp's side take on Pep Guardiola's treble winners, live on talkSPORT, in the biggest Premier League clash of the weekend.

Both sides look set to bring the excitement and goals, with City just one point ahead of Liverpool at the top of the table.

And to help build up the hype, Ruddock performed a unique rap about the two sides on talkSPORT Breakfast.

He did so in just his first take, but he seemed like a natural: "So listen up, listen up, it's your boy Razor, football on talkSPORT can do me a favour.

"Big Rodri in midfield, Nunez on the run, on talkSPORT waves, the game second to none.

"Goals like thunder, fans screaming loud, Van Dijk's in defence, making Reds proud.

"Alisson guarding, whose saves are so divine, the match is on talkSPORT, the football headline.

"talkSPORT the stage, where dreams unfold, this is rap battle, let the football stories be untold."

Former England boss Sam Allardyce gave it a 10/10 and presenter Natalie Sawyer was also highly impressed, so much so that she wanted to see if Ruddock could win the Christmas No.1 for 2023.

Dave from Coral joined the show to reveal his chances of success: "Forget The Pogues, forget LadBaby, forget Adele, forget Ed Sheeran, forget Taylor Swift.

"These are just some of the names in the betting for Christmas No.1. But, Razor 'Rascal' Ruddock has got to be put in the betting now, not 100/1, not 66/1, 50/1 to be Christmas No.1!"

December 22 is the date in which the winner of Christmas No.1 will be crowned, with Ruddock surely hopeful he can take the title... just as he hopes his beloved Liverpool will be crowned come May.
