  • Partey's over

Thomas Partey is a target for Italian giants Juventus this January, according to Foot Mercato.

The Arsenal midfielder has had a campaign plagued by injury, and the arrival of Declan Rice has seen him drop down the pecking order.

That has led to interest from Juve who are looking at striking a loan deal for the Ghanaian with sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli travelling to London for discussions.

If the Serie A side were to decide on a permanent offer for Partey, the Gunners are expected to ask for around £25million.

  • White new contract

Arsenal defender Ben White looks set to sign a new long-term contract at the club, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Negotiations between White and the Gunners are ongoing and both parties are said to be confident of reaching an agreement.

The right-back has started 11 of 12 Premier League games this season and is a key member of Mikel Arteta's side.

He now seems likely to be rewarded for his performances with a new deal to keep him at the Emirates.

  • Antonio out?

West Ham are reportedly looking to sign a replacement for Michail Antonio this January.

The striker is starting to fall out of favour under David Moyes and now the Hammers are eyeing a new No.9, according to FootballTransfers.

Bologna's Joshua Zirkzee and PSG's Hugo Ekitike are both being considered as potential signings.

  • Man United eye Fofana

Monaco star Youssouf Fofana is attracting interest from Manchester United, according to reports in France.

Fofana is said to be one of Erik ten Hag's top targets for the January window as he looks to bring in another midfielder.

PSG and Juventus are also said to be looking at the French international, who is considered to be a good replacement for Casemiro, should he leave Old Trafford.

  • Lukeba to be Ten Hag's lucky charm

Manchester United are desperately searching for a new centre-back in January to add competition and depth.

And the latest player linked with a move to Old Trafford is Castello Lukeba from RB Leipzig.

BILD report the Red Devils have a keen eye on the 20-year-old and considered a bid for him earlier this year.

In the end, they elected not to and Lukeba joined Leipzig in a deal worth £28million from Lyon.

But his performances in the Bundesliga have been sublime, and Man United are now looking seriously at the defender.

  • Premier League return for Werner

Former Premier League striker Timo Werner is being targeted by Crystal Palace and Fulham, with both sides interested in a loan.

90min report the forward is free to leave RB Leipzig in January after slipping down the pecking order in Germany.

His last spell in the top-flight saw him score ten goals for Chelsea before re-joining Leipzig.

But despite this, the two London-based teams are monitoring Werner and could make moves for him when the winter transfer window opens.

Wow huge news coming from Goodison Park this afternoon.

  • Newcastle and Barcelona swap deal

Barcelona are reportedly attempting to negotiate a swap deal with Newcastle for Bruno Guimaraes.

Mundo Deportivo claim the LaLiga giants are unable to afford activating the Brazilian's £100million release clause in his contract.

As a result, they are willing to offer Raphinha in part-exchange for Guimarares.

The Magpies have been linked with the former Leeds man for a long time and are targeting a new right winger either in January or next summer.

However, Guimaraes is regarded as a key part of Eddie Howe's plans and the Magpies are likely to want the release clause paid in full if they are to part ways with the midfielder.

  • Jota regrets Saudi move

Former Celtic winger Jota regrets moving to Saudi Arabia this summer.

Reports in Saudi Arabia claim Al-Ittihad will allow the forward to leave on loan in January after barely playing since his £25million move.

Tottenham have been linked with the Portuguese winger because he worked closely with Ange Postecoglou in Glasgow.

Jota is a versatile forward and could offer a short-term solution to some of Spurs' injury problems.

Richarlison and James Maddison are both currently out, leaving Tottenham with just a couple of forward players.

  • Saudi clubs still searching for quality additions

The Saudi Pro League clubs now owned by the country's Public Investment Fund have no intention of stopping their recruitment drive and Premier League raids.

Michael Emenalo, the league's chief, claims clubs from across Saudi Arabia are going to continue to try and buy top quality players, but there will be a less frantic approach in January.

Speaking about the league's growth, he said: "I’m hoping (the January transfer window) is not very busy because I think the job that was done has been quite interesting and aggressive, and most of the clubs, I believe, have what they need.

“And hopefully, the attention will now turn to work within the training facilities to improve these players and to allow them time to adapt and perform. Now, whatever additional improvement that we need to do for any club, with time on our hands and preparation, we believe will be additions of the highest level.

“We will continue to support and to see every opportunity we have to bring more talented individuals that want to come to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia that is open for business.”

  • Toon back in for Ekitike

Newcastle are set to turn to former target Hugo Ekitike in January as they look to bolster Eddie Howe's forward options.

Newcastle's two strikers Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak have scored seven goals each this season but are currently both injured, leaving the Toon with no other senior forward.

And 90min report Paris Saint-Germain outcast Ekitike could join the club on loan.

The Magpies thought they had wrapped up a deal for the young Frenchman in the summer of 2022, but he elected to join PSG and the Toon signed Isak.

However, the French giants are more than willing to let Ekitike go after playing just eight minutes at the Parc des Princes this season.

  • Hello, and welcome back to talkSPORT.com's live transfer blog.

Let's start by looking at the biggest story circulating.

talkSPORT sources understand that Brentford are confident that Ivan Toney will sign a new deal to remain with the club.

His current contract expires in the summer of 2025, and he has strong interest from Chelsea and Arsenal.

But the Bees have no intention to sell the forward in January and a new deal would significantly strengthen Brentford's position in the transfer market when it comes to Toney.

  • Eagle landing

Dougie Freedman is a live contender to join Sir Jim Ratcliffe's Manchester United revolution, talkSPORT understands.

Sporting director John Murtough is set to follow chief executive Richard Arnold out of Old Trafford once Ratcliffe has completed his purchase of a 25 per cent stake in the club.

Crystal Palace transfer chief Freedman, who is based in the north west, is one of several names Ratcliffe is considering to form his new-look recruitment team.

  • Bright idea

Brighton are ‘prepared’ for the departure of Roberto De Zerbi, club CEO Paul Barber has revealed to talkSPORT.

But, the Seagulls chief has insisted the south coast side will fight to keep the Italian coach for a great deal longer amid prying eyes from other clubs in England and his homeland.

“Good players and good staff will always be looked at by competitors, and we’re prepared for that, we’re realistic about that and we try to plan for those eventualities,” Barber told talkSPORT football correspondent Ben Jacobs at the 2023 Soccerex event in Miami.

“When we unfortunately lost Graham Potter to Chelsea it was a difficult period, because you don’t want to lose your head coach one month into the season. We always have a small list of coaches that we would look to move to if we had to, Roberto was top of that list."

  • Tone death

Brentford are confident star striker Ivan Toney will sign a new contract, talkSPORT understands.

Toney's current deal expires in the summer of 2025, prompting interest from Arsenal and Chelsea.

The Bees are adamant they will not sell Toney in the upcoming January transfer window.

  • In-sane in the membrane

Bayern Munich are acting fast to counter-act interest from Manchester City and Liverpool in German star Leroy Sane.

Speaking in a new video for BILD, Christian Falk said: "Leroy Sané is currently playing in the form of his life for Bayern and as reported, FC Liverpool and Jürgen Klopp have their eyes on him.

“And now Bayern are finally reacting. As Sport Director Christoph Freund confirmed in the SportBILD, there was a contact recording. I listened around. Yes, and it should look like this. FC Bayern would like to extend the contract with him. Therefore, after the international break, he offered to get together.

“A conversation should then be agreed upon directly, namely with Sané’s consultant Fali Ramadani. He then flies to Munich and then will finally be spoken to. Will he extend his contract or not? I heard he feels very, very comfortable.

“Leroy is estimated to earn €20m. There is still a bit of leeway, but not much more. With Bayern, top earners were up to €25m. So, you have to talk. The contract should be extended.

“However, as I heard, Manchester City has now also set its eyes on him. His ex-club, whether he would return to Pep Guardiola? I honestly don’t think so. I think Bayern really has very good chances to extend with Leroy. But that has to be discussed now. And these conversations are now starting.”

  • High Flying City

Noel Gallagher has seen it all as a Manchester City fan, and is now able to impart some wisdom looking down from the top of the pile.

The legendary Oasis and High Flying Birds frontman made a trip to talkSPORT Towers to discuss all things Sky Blue.

Declan Rice, Kai Havertz, Jurrien Timber and David Raya all arrived, but Gallagher thinks manager Mikel Arteta has overdone things.

  • Kiwior blimey

Arsenal have reportedly rejected multiple approaches for fringe defender Jakub Kiwior.

The Poland international only joined the Gunners from Spezia in January but has struggled to secure regular minutes.

Calcio Mercato, as cited by the Sun, has claimed both AC Milan and Roma are interested in bringing him back to Italy on loan in January.

However, the report adds that Mikel Arteta has made it clear the 23-year-old, who has started just two Premier League games this season, is not available.

  • Tor blimey

Newcastle are among the clubs interested in signing Barcelona star Ferran Torres, according to reports.

Spanish outlet Fichajes claim that former Manchester City star Torres is one of the sellable assets Barca can flog this summer.

The 23-year-old fell out of favour at the Camp Nou following the arrival of Robert Lewandowski just months after he joined from City.

Newcastle have now been touted as the club to allow the attacker to return to the Premier League in a £35million move.

  • Transfer season

There are Christmas adverts on the telly, the lights in your high-street have been switched on and you’ve already overdosed on cranberry sauce.

You know what this means: the winter transfer window must be on the horizon.

It truly is the most wonderful time of the year, especially if you don’t like the team you are currently playing for.

From January 1 to January 31, Premier League clubs get one last chance to fix their squad before their season is decided.

The winter window tends to be quieter than its summer counterpart, but that could be about to change.

  • Points deduction?

Chelsea could be hit with a points deduction as alleged ‘secret’ payments from Roman Abramovich may have breached Financial Fair Play rules.

The Guardian conducted an investigation looking at leaked files that it alleges reveals a series of payments that amount to tens of millions of pounds.

It is claimed the payments were made through offshore vehicles belonging to former owner Abramovich.

The investigation raised questions over whether this money was declared in official accounts, with it being alleged the transactions being made for the club’s benefit.

Beneficiaries are alleged to include Eden Hazard’s agent, an associate of Antonio Conte and Chelsea officials.

Other payments include those in connection with the purchases of Willian and Samuel Eto’o.

  • Ram it home

Danny Murphy doubled down on his verdict that Aaron Ramsdale is 'big enough' to defend himself and believes that parents of professional athletes should not get involved.

Nick Ramsdale said Murphy couldn’t see the difference between being a pundit and a father.

But the ex-Liverpool midfielder told talkSPORT: “Firstly, I like Aaron Ramsdale, I’ve backed him loads and I think he’s a tremendous goalkeeper, and that’s got nothing to do with this.

“Me, personally, in that situation I wouldn’t do what he did. I wouldn't defend my son on social media or come out fighting if someone said something on commentary or made an opinion, because it’s just an opinion.

“The first thing I’d do is I’d be speaking to my son, talking with him about it and checking where he’s at - and that’s it.

“If I was advising my son now in this world in a similar situation I’d be telling him, unless something drastic had happened, to not respond to things on social media. The only person you need to be speaking to is the manager. You don’t need to be going out in public and commenting on what a pundit says about you.

“Why is a Premier League player’s dad on a podcast? He’s allowed to do what he wants, of course, but why as a player would you want your dad on any platform while you’re in a situation like that?

“Ramsdale is going to have a wonderful career wherever he ends up, he’s a brilliant goalkeeper, so his dad just needs to let him get on. Don’t be going on podcasts, don’t be talking about anything, because people will just twist and manipulate their words and it will always end up coming back to Ramsdale.

“Any parent should not be talking about a grown man who is a professional footballer in the Premier League, he can speak for himself. Do it at home, speak privately.”

  • Blanc canvas

Jean-Claude Blanc is the leading contender to become Manchester United's new chief executive, talkSPORT understands.

Blanc has worked for both Juventus and Paris St Germain and is employed by Sir Jim Ratcliffe's INEOS group to oversee their sporting portfolio.

Ratcliffe is close to completing a 25 per cent acquisition of United, prompting the departure of current CEO Richard Arnold.

Sporting director John Murtough is also expected to be replaced.

  • Aaron Rams-Nightingale

Simon Jordan is baffled professional footballers require their ‘mummies and daddies’ to defend them.

The talkSPORT host was responding to comments from Aaron Ramsdale’s father and advised him to stop speaking about his son’s predicament at Arsenal.

He said: “He’s a professional sportsman! Why do you need your mummy and daddy to come out and say things for you? What’s next? The manager’s going to read you a bedtime story and tuck him up in bed at night?

“Get over it! It’s absurd! When you hear professional footballers have their parents speak on their behalf, what’s going on? Of course people will look at it with disdain - I do!

“When you’ve got Harry Maguire’s mother coming out and Aaron Ramsdale’s father coming out… you’ve got these boys who live in his vacuum of immense recognisability and immense rewards and every now and again it brings a bit of adversity - how about allow them to overcome their adversity with a bit if resilience and fortitude, which is supposedly what makes them be the elite men they are.

“For god’s sake, these are grown men being paid like grown men - give them an opportunity to take it, rather than get mummy and daddy to say, ‘My boy’s getting a little bit of a shellacking’ - oh give over!

“He’s a man! He’s a professional footballer! He doesn’t need his daddy to speak for him!

“His father should use better judgement. If I was Aaron Ramsdale I’d be saying, ‘Dad pack it in’, and I wouldn’t do it again… but he’s gone and done it again! He’s carried it on!

“This is not schoolyard football, it’s ridiculous!”

  • David de Stayer

David de Gea is reportedly being lined up for a shock return to Spain to play for a second-division side.

The 33-year-old has been without a club since leaving Manchester United in the summer after failing to agree a contract extension.

According to MARCA, De Gea is mulling over a potential switch to Eldense, who currently sit 11th in LaLiga Hypermotion.

The report adds that De Gea was in Alicante last week to discuss the club's current project and vision with Eldense chiefs.

But De Gea's interest may stem for an investment interest rather than a bid to return to the pitch.
