Forgotten Premier League striker completes unexpected move to non-league Macclesfield
Macclesfield have completed the signing of former Everton and Hull striker Oumar Niasse on a short-term deal.
The 33-year-old has been without a club since leaving Morecambe at the end of last season following their relegation to League Two.
The striker who has represented Senegal nine times will spend the foreseeable future playing in the Northern Premier League.
A statement from the club read: “Macclesfield FC are delighted to have agreed terms to the signing of former Everton and Hull City striker Oumar Niasse on a short term deal subject to league approval.
“Boasting a wealth of experience, Niasse will be able to share his expertise from making over 50 appearances at the highest level.
“The former Senegalese International provides a real threat with his pace and power and adds real quality to Alex Bruce’s squad.

Niasse is best known for a four-year spell at Goodison Park where he scored eight times in 35 appearances before successive loan spells at Hull and Cardiff.
His time at Everton was marred after falling out of favour with the then boss Ronald Koeman.
After featuring in a bit-part role during his first season at the club, Niasse was not given a squad number ahead of the 2016–17 campaign after being informed by Koeman that he would need to find a new club.

The Dutchman told reporters: "If Niasse likes to play football he needs to leave Everton."
Niasse failed to strike a move before the transfer deadline and was subsequently reintegrated into Koeman’s first team set-up and handed a new squad number.
But the striker’s renaissance didn’t last long as he was demoted to the under-23 squad two-months later.
