Dana White’s life coach tells Joe Rogan how he saved UFC chief from ‘death in ten years’ before dramatic body transformation

Gary Brecka, the man Dana White credits with saving his life, has revealed the role he played in the UFC CEO’s epic body transformation.

White shocked the internet in 2022 when he revealed his ripped physique after undergoing a 10-week body transformation with the help of Brecka.

The 54-year-old was inspired to change his life after facing multiple health issues and discovering he apparently only had 10 years left to live.

Brecka believes putting a number on White’s life expectancy was the thing that initially convinced him to take drastic action.

“I think giving him a life expectancy just kind of validated it for him,” he told Joe Rogan during a recent appearance on the JRE podcast.

“It just really put it in his face. That’s something you can calculate.

“He’s like, ‘Okay, I’m 53 now. 63 doesn’t seem that far off.’”

White’s health issues were bigger than simply carrying a bit of extra weight.

The MMA mogul was dealing with seriously high blood pressure, which can lead to heart disease, heart attacks, strokes, and many more potentially life-threatening ailments.

Brecka immediately prescribed him a bunch of medications to combat it - but they didn't seem to help White overcome the issue.

He said: “Beta blockers, calcium channel blockers, diuretics, all of these things. [Dana White’s] blood pressure was still through the roof.”

“I think it was 160 over 110. I want to say it was very high, and it was consistently high.

"Our clinical team was taking his blood pressure two or three times a day, seven days a week, and it was consistently very elevated, even though he was on blood pressure medication.”

The human biologist changed his approach to White after concluding he had been misdiagnosed by doctors 15 years ago.

“In Dana White’s case, he was diagnosed with idiopathic hypertension, which he essentially did not have,” Brecka added.

“He was being medicated for it, he had been medicated for it for fifteen years. He didn’t really have hypertension, there was nothing really wrong with him.

"It’s that his body couldn’t break down homocysteine. It was deficient in the amino acids needed to break this homocysteine down.”

Once Brecka figured that out, things changed and the results quickly began speaking for themselves as the UFC chief dropped 30lbs and felt better than ever.

He concluded: “I should have brought the numbers because I had the week-over-week numbers, it was astounding.

“We just put him on a simple amino acid called Trimethylglycine, an amino acid you can get off the shelf. What it did was make up for this genetic deficiency.

“This lack of code to break down homocysteine. His body started to methylate to break homocysteine down.”
