Football clubs are getting ready to splash the cash once again following a record-breaking summer transfer window.

FIFA revealed in September how over £5.6billion was spent in the summer - an all-time record - with English clubs alone forking out £1.5bn.

In 2023 alone, there have been five transfers that were agreed for £100m-plus, with three of the movers being England internationals.

Chelsea started the year off by bringing in World Cup winner Enzo Fernandez from Benfica for a then-British record of £106.8m.

They then smashed that record to land Moises Caicedo from Brighton in a £115m deal.

Meanwhile Arsenal signed Declan Rice for a fee rising to £105m, Harry Kane joined Bayern Munich which could cost the Germans more than £100m and Real Madrid's transfer for Jude Bellingham may rise to as much as £115m.

And with the January transfer window to open in less than six weeks, you can be sure of plenty more mega-money moves.

A switch mid-season usually comes at a premium with selling side unwilling to part with stars unless it's for good money.

Here talkSPORT.com takes a look at some of those star-studded names that could join the £100m club.

Kylian Mbappe - Paris Saint-Germain

The 24-year-old is already a member of the exclusive club following his permanent switch to PSG from Monaco in 2018 for £166m.

Mbappe looks set to depart Les Parisiens in 2024 having so far refused to extend his stay in the French capital.

All signs point towards him leaving on a free transfer, with Real believed to be a potential destination.

Los Blancos had a £189m offer rejected to sign him in 2021, but recently rejected claims they are close to finally securing his services.

While they can wait until the summer to land him for nothing, they could make a move for him in the winter window, which PSG could be forced to accept to avoid missing out on a fee.

Should he move for as low as £100m, he would become the first player to move for nine-figures on more than one occasion.

Victor Osimhen - Napoli

One of the world's most in-demand strikers, the Nigeria international spearheaded Napoli to their first Serie A title in 33 years last campaign.

He banged in 31 goals in all competitions during the 2022/23 season, and already has six strikes from ten matches this term.

A move to the Premier League has been mooted, with Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United all understood to be admirers.

talkSPORT revealed in March how Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis had slapped a whopping £150m price tag on the 24-year-old.

And with the centre-forward to become a free agent in 2025, he knows he will have to cash-in on Osimhen soon amid his contract stand-off.

All eyes will be on Osimhen next summer, with Blues icon John Obi Mikel telling his compatriot to make the move to Stamford Bridge.

Ivan Toney - Brentford

Another striker who looks set to join a new team is one-cap England international Toney.

Like Osimhen, he too has a deal until 2025, but he appears to be preparing for a new challenge having switched agencies.

Toney is also on Arsenal and Chelsea's radar, however a January transfer isn't expected with the Bees desperate to keep him for the remainder of the season.

talkSPORT understands that Thomas Frank's side are demanding at least £80m, with a potential bidding war to only raise the value of the former Newcastle man.

Asked ahead of the 2022/23 season how much he values Toney at, Frank said: "£100m plus?... What would you pay for a striker that guarantees you 20-plus goals?

"And this is 20 goals for a mid-table club. What can he do in a bigger club?"

Toney is set to return to first team action in the New Year with his eight-month ban for breaching FA betting rules close to coming to an end.

Evan Fergsuon - Brighton

Yet another striker who has been making waves, the teenager is one of the Premier League's most talented youngsters.

He has already banged in five top-flight goals this season, which includes a hat-trick against Newcastle in September, to add to his six strikes last term.

Chelsea, who are desperate to bolster their front line, are keeping tabs on the 19-year-old, along with United and Tottenham, who are yet to replace Kane.

Potential suitors were dealt a blow earlier this month when the Ireland international penned a new deal at the Amex Stadium until 2029.

And if a club wishes to prise him away from the south coast, talkSPORT understands they will have to cough up over £100m to tempt the Seagulls into selling.

Mohamed Salah - Liverpool

The Liverpool legend was reportedly the subject of a world-record bid rising to £215m from Saudi Pro League giants Al Ittihad in September.

It was claimed that the 31-year-old had a £127m-a-year contract on the table to swap Europe for the Middle East.

Liverpool, who also rejected a £150m offer for Salah, were adamant the winger was not for sale, with the ex-Roma forward happy to stay at Anfield.

But rumours of a possible transfer refuse to go away, with Saudi Arabia already plotting a 2024 move for Salah.

With his deal in Merseyside to expire in 2025, it remains to be seen whether Liverpool would be tempted to cash in on Salah next summer.

Bruno Guimaraes - Newcastle

One of the top central midfielders in the English top-flight, the Brazilian has dazzled fans since joining the Magpies from Lyon in January 2022.

His performances have led to a host of admirers, with the 26-year-old attracting the attention of Real Madrid.

Newcastle have acted fast in tying the player down to a new five-year contract, with Bruno becoming the highest-paid player in the club's history.

Though talkSPORT understands that his deal includes a release clause worth £100m.

And should he keep wowing supporters, it won't be long until a team activates it.

Jamal Musiala - Bayern Munich

The versatile Bayern star has impressed since joining the Bundesliga champions from Chelsea's academy in 2019.

Musiala, who rejected England at senior level to represent his birth country Germany, has no shortage of suitors.

With 35 goals and 25 assists in 139 games for Bayern in all competitions at the age of 20, as well as boasting 25 caps for Germany, Musiala has shown maturity beyond his years.

Bayern have no desire to sell the youngster, but that hasn't stopped clubs from keeping tabs on the four-time Bundesliga winner.

Liverpool have been linked with the player, meanwhile BILD have claimed that Real and Manchester City are keen on him.

The German news outlet has declared that Los Blancos could make a move for Musiala if they fail in their Mbappe pursuit, while Pep Guardiola is said to have identified him as a potential successor to Kevin De Bruyne.

Florian Wirtz - Bayer Leverkusen

Another one of Germany's crown jewels, the 20-year-old playmaker has gone from strength to strength this season.

Wirtz is one of the main reason's why Xabi Alonso's unbeaten men sit top of the Bundesliga table having won ten out of their opening 11 fixtures.

He has chipped in with six goals and ten assists in 17 games this term - almost double what he achieved in the whole of last campaign.

Tied down at the BayArena until 2027, it will take a monster offer to lure him away in the near future.

But an offer in excess of £100m could just be enough to sway Leverkusen into parting ways with Wirtz.
