  • Raphael's rage

Raphael Varane looks set to leave Manchester United with his relationship with Erik ten Hag 'practically broken'.

The Dail Mail report that Varane and Ten Hag clashed after the defender was dropped for the Manchester derby last month.

Since then, he has not started a game and is seemingly behind Jonny Evans and Harry Maguire in the pecking order.

The Frenchman is now likely to leave the club with Man United keen on selling for around £18million, according to Sky Sports.

  • Toney update

Brentford are determined to keep Ivan Toney amid interest from Arsenal and Chelsea, according to The Mirror.

The Bees will lose key attacking players during AFCON, so they are not keen on letting their star leave this winter too.

  • No choice

Everton could be forced to cash in on midfielder Amadou Onana in January to ease their financial woes.

talkSPORT understands Everton are being propped up by potential new owners 777 Sports by as much as £20million per month.

And the longer their takeover drags on the more likely the Toffees are to turn to the transfer market to raise funds.

Onana is on the radar of clubs including Manchester United and Chelsea and is one of the Merseysiders’ most sellable assets along with Jordan Pickford and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

  • Maguire redemption

Harry Maguire was on the brink of leaving Manchester United in the summer but he has managed to turn his fortunes around.

The centre-back is now back to being a regular feature in Erik ten Hag's defence, starting over Raphael Varane.

And Ten Hag has been speaking about Maguire's redemption.

The Man United boss said: “Harry Maguire took his chance.

"We were talking about injured players, he took his chance when Rapha Varane was absent.

“There is internal competition, which is normal in big clubs.

"When your chance comes, you must seize it and the others must fight to be back."

According to reports in Italy, AC Milan are keen on signing Chelsea defender Benoit Badiashile on loan this January.

The Italian side are struggling with injuries and are in desperate need of reinforcements at the back.

They have set their sights on Badiashile who has been out of action for most of the with a hamstring injury.

However, since returning, he has been unable to claim a starting spot under Mauricio Pochettino.

And that may mean the Blues consider a possible loan move should an offer from Milan come in.

  • Udogie loves Ange

Destiny Udogie has spoken about the impact Ange Postecoglou had on his desire to play for Tottenham.

Udogie was signed last year but spent the season on loan at Udinese, however, he is now a key part of Spurs' line-up.

And a big part of the Italian's success at the club has come down to Postecoglou's arrival.

The defender told The Athletic: “The first day I came in, Ange Postecoglou called me to speak with him and he told me I’m a key player for him.

“He explained what he wanted from me, and knowing I had the trust of the head coach was a big motivation”

  • Gross to head back home?

Brighton midfielder Pascal Gross is attracting interest from Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt, according to Sky Sports.

The German left his home country in 2017 as he joined the Seagulls from Ingolstadt in a £3million deal.

He signed a new Brighton contract earlier this year which writes off a January move, however, a summer switch could be on the cards.

  • Man United to follow Chelsea plan

Manchester United are ready to follow Chelsea’s model by hiring multiple sporting directors.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe is planning a major overhaul of United’s recruitment department once his 25 per cent minority shareholding is formally ratified after being left far from impressed by their recent transfer dealings.

Paul Mitchell and Dougie Freedman are both under consideration for prominent roles in the reshuffle while Paolo Maldini has also been mentioned as a potential candidate.

There is a strong possibility that Ratcliffe hires Mitchell and another transfer specialist to work in tandem with the former Southampton, Tottenham and Monaco recruitment guru.

Chelsea’s £1bn spend in the last three transfer windows has been led by co-sporting directors Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart, although Winstanley has come under scrutiny for his handling of soon-to-be USA Women’s team coach Emma Hayes’ contract negotiations.

  • Bernardo considered Saudi

Manchester City star Bernardo Silva has revealed that he did consider offers from Saudi Arabia in the summer.

Speaking to RTP, Silva said: “I'd lie if I said I didn't think about the Saudi offers.

“But what interested me was the heat of a UCL semi-final, the stadium going wild after scoring against Madrid or when we won the final.

“I didn’t want to give up on that."

Brighton remain relaxed about the future of manager Roberto De Zerbi despite fresh interest from Real Madrid.

De Zerbi is on the Spanish giants’ list of possible replacements for Carlo Ancelotti, who is primed to become Brazil’s new boss at the end of the season.

However, Brighton have received no indication from their manager that he is looking to leave the Amex.

And former Liverpool midfielder and current Bayer Leverkusen chief Xabi Alonso appears to be ahead of the combustible Italian on Real’s shortlist anyways.

As previously reported by talkSPORT, Brighton are also protected by a hefty release clause in De Zerbi’s contract.

Everton could be forced to cash in on midfielder Amadou Onana in January to ease their financial woes.

  • Insight from Seaman

David Seaman has suggested that Mikel Arteta's goalkeeping selection against Lens will reveal who his true no.1 is at the club.

Aaron Ramsdale and David Raya are both competing for the starting spot in between the sticks at the Gunners this season.

Ramsdale will start this weekend against Brentford as Raya is not eligible to play against his parent club.

And club legend Seaman suggests that if the England international is then dropped for the Champions League clash against Lens next week, then he is not Arteta's no.1.

"If Aaron goes in at the weekend, then he's left out for the next game, then we know who Mikel's number one is," he told BBC Sport.

"It's not good for Aaron. He's a top-class goalkeeper, there's no doubt about that."

"One day I would like to play in the Premier League but right now I am focused on Juventus and winning trophies with them, we are one of the best teams in the world.”

  • Votes on ban revealed

Eight Premier League clubs blocked the proposed ban on teams being able to sign players from related clubs on loan this January.

It would have stopped Saudi-owned Newcastle from bringing in players from the Saudi Pro League, with majority owners the Public Investment Fund (PIF) also owning Al Hilal, Al Nassr, Al Ittihad and Al Ahli.

But while 12 clubs voted in favour of the ban, at least 14 teams out of the 20 in the Premier League needed to vote for the motion in order for it to pass, meaning no ban will be put in place.

talkSPORT understands Sheffield United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Everton, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Nottingham Forest all opted to say no to the rule change.

According to The Times, Newcastle were also joined by Burnley in vetoing the motion.

  • Tomiyasu to stay

  • Varane 'set to leave'

Raphael Varane is keen to leave Man United next summer with his sights set on Italy or Saudi Arabia, according to The Sun.

The World Cup winner has fallen out of favour at Old Trafford and has not started in the Premier League since September.

And now reports claim Varane is planning a departure but Ten Hag will not sanction any exit in January with the squad already depleted.

It means a summer transfer is now the most likely avenue for the former Real Madrid star, who already has plans on his next destination.

talkSPORT also understands that prospective co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe will look to move on Varane and midfielder Casemiro.

  • Clubs vote against ban

Newcastle are free to sign players on loan from the Saudi Pro League in January after Premier League clubs voted against introducing a ban, talkSPORT understands.

At a shareholders meeting today, the vote on bringing in a new rule to stop clubs loaning players from teams with the same owners failed to attract the 14 votes required to pass the resolution.

It means Newcastle would now be able to sign players like Ruben Neves from Al Hilal, who like the Magpies are owned by the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund (PIF).

"I’ve played against a lot of them already so I know them from the pitch, and I have found it easy to make friends here.

  • Sancho latest

Jadon Sancho's potential move to Juventus could be helped by the arrival of Sir Jim Ratcliffe, according to Tuttosport.

Ratcliffe looks set to employ former Juve executive Jean-Claude Blanc as Manchester United's new CEO.

And Blanc could well play a role in trying to get a deal done with his old club to allow exiled winger Sancho to leave the club.

He is reported to still hold a strong relationship with the Italian giants.
